It was not – as few educated people expected… – an outrageous knock out, but it still must have hurted some Madridista’s hearts. It was not a great game, however it showed a very nice and fit FC Barcelona. As for Madrid, they clearly lack pace and dynamics. Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal face-left what appeared to be a surprisingly fearful squad with an extremely conservative strategy. Taking the lead goal, it was to believe Real Madrid would secure the game and try the second. But Pedro was not in the mood and just equalized right away, leaving the game just the way it was back in the first half: Barça was in charge, Madrid was the expectant one. And it didn’t take long for Barcelona to go around: Ramos is uncareful in the area and the referee has no mercy – and neither does Messi, scoring from the spot. Barça goes 2 – 1 and none believed the game could go the other way. Also, Xavi made the third – what a wonderful slalom from Iniesta, leaving three behind – and then it came the moment everyone thought “oh, no, it can’t go any further, that guy can’t be right, not 5 – 2, please”, when Messi got ready to make an easy 4th – bummer, he blew it. And after just a few seconds, Valdés blew it too. Now, Di María, he couldn’t miss it – the goal is just too much of a large target, you can’t miss it when you’re 5 feet away and there’s no one there to defend it. 3-2 and I thought Barcelona would go after the 4th again. But I guess they were just too tired. Fair enough. See you next wednesday. Everything is still possible and that can only be a good thing.
